Terms of Service

Effective date: October 19, 2026

Plain-language terms for using TaskHockey: monthly or annual plans with a 7-day free trial, cancel anytime and keep access through the end of your billing period, and your team always owns its data.

1.Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and TaskHockey, operated by the TaskHockey team in Michigan, USA (“TaskHockey,” “we,” “us”). They govern your use of the TaskHockey website and app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a team, club, school, or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organization.

2.The Service

TaskHockey is team operations software for hockey coaches, general managers, and scouts. It includes tools for rosters, lineups, contracts and finances, film notes, recruiting, scouting, standings, and trade proposals. Features available to you depend on your plan, as described on our pricing page. Lineup suggestions, trade “fairness” ratings, and similar outputs are heuristics to help your thinking, not professional advice, and you are responsible for your own team decisions.

3.Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and a member of a team’s staff (or otherwise authorized by the team) to create an account. The Service is for team staff, not for children or players.
  • Each account manages one team.
  • Give us accurate information and keep your email address current so we can reach you about your account and billing.
  • Keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away at support@taskhockey.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4.Subscriptions, free trial, and billing

Plans. The Service is offered as one plan, TaskHockey GM, billed either monthly ($20/month) or annually ($200/year, paid upfront), in U.S. dollars, one team per account. Prices exclude any applicable taxes, which may be added at checkout.

Free trial. New subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. You provide a payment method at checkout. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts automatically and your payment method is charged the price of the plan you chose (monthly, or annual paid upfront). We may limit trials to one per team or customer.

Automatic renewal. After any trial, your subscription renews automatically every month (monthly plan) or every year (annual plan) and your payment method is charged at the start of each billing period until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe, and you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method on that schedule.

Cancel anytime. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal (“Manage billing”) in the Service, which is provided by Stripe. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access to your paid plan until the end of the current billing period, and you are not charged again after that.

Refunds. The 7-day free trial is how you try the Service before paying: if you cancel during the trial, you are not charged. After the trial, payments are not refunded, in whole or in part, and we don’t give prorated refunds. That includes the annual plan: if you cancel partway through a year you’ve paid for, you won’t get money back for the remaining months, but you keep access until the end of that year and you won’t be charged again. You can cancel anytime to stop the next renewal. If the law where you live gives you a right to a refund, that right still applies. If you think you were charged by mistake, email support@taskhockey.com and we’ll look into it.

Switching billing period. You can switch between monthly and annual billing in the billing portal. Stripe shows any price difference before you confirm.

Failed payments. If a payment fails and isn’t resolved, we may move your team to a lower plan or suspend paid features until payment is made.

Price changes. We may change our prices. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change applies to your subscription, and the new price takes effect at your next billing period after that notice. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before it takes effect.

5.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break any law or violate anyone’s rights, including privacy rights;
  • enter personal information you don’t have the right to use, or sensitive information that isn’t needed for team operations (for example, government ID numbers or detailed medical records);
  • use the Service to harass, spam, or send unsolicited messages, including through trade sharing;
  • upload malware or try to disrupt, overload, or probe the Service;
  • access or try to access another team’s data, or bypass security, plan limits, or access controls;
  • scrape the Service, or copy, resell, or reverse engineer it, except as the law allows; or
  • share your login with people outside your team’s staff.

6.Your data

You own your data. The rosters, stats, contracts, finances, notes, and other content your team enters (“Customer Data”) belong to your team. We claim no ownership of it.

You give us a limited permission to host, store, copy, process, and display Customer Data only as needed to provide, secure, and support the Service for you, and as described in our Privacy Policy. We don’t sell Customer Data or use it for advertising.

Your responsibility for player information. Player information is entered by your staff. You are responsible for the accuracy of Customer Data and for having all rights, notices, and permissions needed to enter and use it, including under any team, league, school, or player agreements. Junior rosters may include players who are minors (for example, 16 or 17 years old). If you enter information about a minor, you are responsible for having any required permission from the player’s parent or guardian, and you should limit that information to what’s needed for normal team operations.

7.Film, minors, and AI tagging

Game film can show minors. Junior hockey video often shows players under 18. Upload or link only film your team has the right to use, and follow your league’s and families’ rules about recording and sharing it.

AI tagging sends film to an AI provider. When you run AI tagging, still frames taken from the video are sent to the third-party AI provider we use for that feature, so it can suggest moments (for example, a shot or a goal). The provider processes the frames to return suggestions. Only run AI tagging on film you are allowed to share with a service provider for this purpose.

It’s a preview. AI tagging is an early preview. Suggestions can be wrong or missing, nothing is saved as a clip until you confirm it, and the feature may change or be withdrawn.

8.Trade sharing

You can share a trade proposal by link, email, or text message. A share link can be opened by anyone who has it, without signing in, until you revoke or regenerate it. You are responsible for who you share links with and for having permission to contact the people you send proposals to. If you use our email or text sending, messages are sent only when you click send, and standard carrier rates may apply to recipients.

9.Export and deletion

You can request an export of your Customer Data, or deletion of your account and Customer Data, at any time by emailing support@taskhockey.com from the email address on your account. We will provide exports in a common machine-readable format (such as CSV or JSON) and complete deletion requests from our live systems within 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Canceling your subscription does not delete your data. If you want your data removed, ask us to delete it.

10.Our property and feedback

The Service itself, including its software, design, and branding, belongs to TaskHockey and is protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your team’s internal operations while your account is active. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

11.Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Stripe for payments and, if used, Resend and Twilio for sending trade proposals. Your use of Stripe’s checkout and billing portal is also subject to Stripe’s terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we don’t control.

12.Availability and no warranty

We work to keep the Service available and your data safe, but we don’t guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available, and we may change, add, or remove features over time. We recommend keeping your own copies of important information.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

13.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TaskHockey and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of those damages.

Our total liability for all claims arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

14.Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify TaskHockey against claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Customer Data, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or anyone else’s rights, including claims by players or other people whose information you entered.

15.Termination

You can stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms (including non-payment), if your use creates a security or legal risk, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and a chance to fix the problem first.

If we discontinue the Service for reasons other than your breach, we will give you reasonable advance notice and the opportunity to export your data. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as payment obligations, data ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

16.Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the effective date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will notify you by email or in the Service at least 15 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before they take effect.

17.Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state and federal courts located in Michigan, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Before filing a claim, please contact us at support@taskhockey.com so we can try to resolve it informally.

18.General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them in connection with a sale or reorganization of the business. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
